About Sybil MacBeth

Sybil MacBeth claims no expertise in prayer, just a lifetime of effort. She has no memory of a time when her relationship with God and Jesus was not the top priority of her life. Prayers were a part of her childhood vocabulary: “My mother taught me from an early age that prayer is an everyday, all-day activity.” As a physical and visual person, she has explored prayer forms that cater to the needs of different learning styles. With a short attention span and a restless spirit, Sybil has found ways to incorporate the body into her prayer.

Sybil is the author of Praying in Color: Drawing a New Path to God (2007) and Praying in Color Kids’ Edition (2009). She is a dancer, doodler, and former community college mathematics professor. Sybil leads retreats and workshops around the country on Praying in Color.
